Thanks to Jon I was able to get my hands on Ikaruga. Ikaruga is a scrolling arcade shooter, and quite possibly one of the hardest games I have ever played. The thing that separates it from other scrolling shooters is the polarity aspect. Your ship can have either a Light or Dark polarity, and you can switch at your will. The enemies are either of these polarities (except for bosses). You can absorb shots from enemies that have the same polarity that you do. Eventually it will build up and you can use your super weapon. The thing that makes the game so hard is switching the between the polarities and the reflexes you need to dodge many of the enemies shots. Check out the video and you will see what I mean. Also, check out THIS video. It shows you how far we have come in this genre. If you want to check the game out you can get it on XBox Live Arcade.
