Epic has once again spat upon the PC community by not releasing Gears of War 2 for PC.  Click the pic to see the article on Kotaku about it or click here.  They don’t give a good reason like they are in development of another game or that the transition won’t go that well.  They use that same BS excuse that they used to explain the horrible sales of UT3, piracy.  According to Cliffy B (yeah, I still call you Cliffy no matter what you want to be called now), people who play high-end games and have high-end PC’s pirate games.  I am highly offended by this.  I have a VERY high-end PC and I play high-end games and I haven’t pirated a game in 6 years.

Yes, there is always the possiblilty that someone will pirate the game.  But everytime you drive you have a chance to get into a car accident.  So do you not drive?  I think the thing that bothers me the most is that they used that BOGUS excuse that UT3 did poorly because it was pirated as reasoning to totally dismiss the PC community.  They just need to come to grips that UT3 was a failure because IT WAS A BAD GAME.  They ignored the community and tried to merge UT99 and 2K4 together and failed.

While Epic is crying about piracy, Valve seems to be doing great.  Piracy would be more of a problem for Valve than any other company because their focus is on the PC.  Steam has proven again and again that piracy can be contained to a certain degree.  Even EA came out and said that piracy wasn’t the reason for poor sales on the PC for titles that it has released.

I used to be a huge supporter of Epic for the games they released and the way they supported the PC community.  But the way they have been acting since the release of UT3 is making me not want to buy their games.
