Portal: Prelude is a mod that lets you play the portal story before GLADoS was brought into the picture.  I thought it was just going to be some extra portal puzzles and line text if there was any communication with anyone.  To my surprize the game is more than that.  If I didn’t know any better I would say that Valve developed this themselves.  The game is clean, polished, and has very little bugs from what I can see.  Instead of having line text to communicate they have spoken dialog, about 400 lines of it I have come to find out.  In my opinion the game is also more difficult, than the original Portal.  The first few stages of the game have the difficulty levels 10 and up of the original Portal.

I have to admit, I got a bit frustrated on one puzzle so I turn off the game.  But now I’m actually eager to get back and try it again.  Its a totally free mod, I believe all you need is HL2.  If you want to try it out JUMP HERE.
