Dear Game Developers,
While I do accept video games as a valid art form, my (as well as the majority of others) primary reason for playing video games if for fun and interaction. Please stop developing games where I spend more time just holding my controller than pressing buttons. I can appreciate that you are trying to tell a story here, however, if I wanted to watch a movie there are much cheaper ways to do so. Also, I would appreciate it if you would stabilize the frame rate in your cut scenes, especially when its on a console. There is no reason why a cut scene on a console is running under 30 frames. Obviously, if your rate is that slow you put to much crap in the background. I have a lot more I can say but I think we should hit these items a few at a time so we can get back to the point where most games are actually fun to play and not just eye candy. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Jarret

That’s the letter I would like to send in to many game developers. They guys who made Too Human are in that same boat. I have played about 2 hours into the game, and I don’t think I can play much more. First of all, in the first hour of game play, 25 minutes of that time was in cinematics. And the cinematics weren’t even that great. The characters weren’t that great, the voice acting was meh, and the frame rate was crap. I can tolerate varying frame rate on PC, seeing that the developer doesn’t know what kind of hardware the game will play one. However, for a console there should be a steady frame rate above 30 (closer to 60 if you ask me).
Another thing that is bothering about the game is the game play itself. I am playing a champion, which appears to be the most balanced out of the 5 classes you can choose from. You can shoose ranged or melee with this character. The ranged play is easy. Just hold your triggers down and point in that direction. Will hit the target everytime. The melee combat is controlled with the right analog stick. I wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t look like my character was trying to swat a annoying bee from around him when he fought melee. Also, its the same formula over and over again. Hit them in the air with melee, shoot and juggle them in the air with ranged. Wash, rinse, repeat.
One of my friends said that he really enjoyed this game, so therefore I am giving it one more play to see if it takes me some where worth going. I’ll write if this game surprizes me…but from the way it looks…I wouldn’t expect it.
LoL…good thing you didn’t buy that. XD I guess I’ll be seeing that back in a week. ;P
I guess spending 10 years in development doesn’t = a good game? /sarcasm to the fullest
