Had HAWX for a little under a week now and I have to say the game is pretty awesome.  The game looks great.  Even at 1080i there is no frame loss.  The game gives you a really good sense of speed.  Especially when your fighting over cities.  It starts off a little slow if you ask me.  The cool thing about the beginning is that you play through the same level in GRAW 2 where you get pinned down in the market place.  After that though there are a few training mission.  The real game starts once you hit Brazil.  The first Brazil mission is crazy.  Enemies from the ground and air that you have to fight simultaneously.  The dog fights can get pretty intense.  Especially when your fighting enemy aces.  The enemies won’t just run into your missiles, you do need to really get behind them and keep a good tone.  The story thus far is pretty good.  *SPOILER ALERT*  If you don’t want to know about the story you should not read the next paragraph.

Basically, you start off as a unit for the US Air Force.  However, at this point the Air Force has decided to cut funding for your unit.  You get picked up by a PMC (Private Military Contractor) and you run missions for them.  About 6 years later a conflict happens in Brazil and your PMC is hired to help Brazil.  This makes the stock of your PMC sky rocket.  However, this conflict is actually another country trying to invade Brazil.  The US sees this and decides to step in and help Brazil.  This kills stock for your PMC, so the company doesn’t like it much.  You are instructed to give as little support as possible to the US.  You guys get into a tough spot while your in a mission and you are instructed to pull out and let the US soldiers die.  You disobey orders and help anyway.  Your PMC is not too pleased.  On your next mission you are supposed to escort the fleet down a canal.  This is when you find out that your PMC has switched sides and is now fighting against the US.  You decide to side with the US and fight against your old PMC.  The PMC then disabled US satellites and attacks the US capitol.  After that you have a mission to protect Air Force One as they try to shoot it down.  That’s where I left off.

The multiplayer is nice as well.  The only game mode I have seen so far is Team Deathmatch, which looks like it holds a maximum of 8 players.  You can do all the same things you can in single players, except you can now do things like jam radar and a few other extras.  Lots of fun to play.  Its actually the first game I like playing over XBox life since Gears of War.  In my opinion its a good game and worth the money.  I’m glad I bought it and am interested in what they will do with the new franchise.
