Yet another weekend sitting home watching moves…sigh. Anyway, checked out Hurt Locker on Saturday night. I expected to see people blowing up, deaths, shootings, etc. Didn’t get a whole lot of that, but I didn’t mind. It was still a good movie. The movie follows three members of a EOD squad on their day to day routine.
At the beginning of the movie the squad loses a member. That member is replaced by the main character. I thought the movie does a real good job of capturing how tense things are in Iraq with IED’s and enemies dressing up as civilians. You can see the mental as well as the physical strain the Soldiers go through and how it can effect them over the long term. The movie was about 2 hours and some change but it really didn’t feel like it.
I don’t want to get to much into the story because that’s pretty much the entire movie. I can tell you I did enjoy the story (even the slow parts) and have no complaints about the movie. I would recommend checking it out if you have a chance.
