Whatever you can do, Google can do better. That’s how it would appear that they think. They are trying to cut into so many markets. Office productivity with Google Apps, OS with Chrome OS, browsers with Chrome, and now they are taking a dual shot at Facebook and Twitter with Buzz. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining in the least. I welcome innovation and services that would push development of Technology forward.
I have seen Twitter like services come and go. Typically they can’t compete with the user base the twitter already has and just don’t offer enough to make people switch from using Twitter. If your going to try to compete with Twitter you already need to be a major player. Enter Google. If anyone has what it takes to compete with Twitter, it’s Google. They already have a huge user base and have plenty of great services that can tie in with a micro blogging application. Buzz supports media content (images, videos, maps, etc) inline with your posts. So no need for other other applications like a twitpic or whatever that twitter music service is called.
You don’t even need to sign up. If you already have a GMail account, which most people do, you are already signed up for the service. I can’t say to much about Buzz yet because I haven’t used it. I’m hoping my GMail account will be updated by the end of the day so that I can check it out and post my true thoughts on it. In the mean time you can check out this video about Google Buzz.
