I was checking out TechCrunch and came across this article.  Looks like Google and Apple aren’t playing nicely anymore.  Google has enabled multi-touch functions on the Nexus and hopefully soon on other Android phones.  Android phones have had the ability to use multi-touch since the G1; there are several apps that use that functionality.  Google apps, however, have not used that functionality.  This is mainly because of an agreement with Apple to not use technology on their phones that Apple felt was their IP.  Well, looks like the honeymoon is over because Google is no longer playing by that rule.

Doesn’t look like Google will be stopping there either.  They have mock ups of the chrome OS tablet that is sure to have multi-touch functionality.  There is no doubt in my mind that a Chrome OS tablet will crush the iPad.  The iPad was a huge let down.  People expected a computer; instead they got a big iPhone.  But that’s a post for another day.  My stance on Apple products are well known.  I hope Google proceeds with it’s plans to step into Apple’s markets so that people will finally understand that you don’t have to pay ridiculous amounts of cash to get good quality product.

  1. I’m right there with you on Apple’s junk. It’s a bunch of over marketed over hyped mediocre hardware with a pretty front end that sheep just fawn over. The iPhone is ok for someone coming from a run of the mill LG or Motorola or whatever, but just about anyone who’s used to using a ‘real’ smart phone, like myself, wouldn’t put up with it’s limitations for a minute. I can’t multi task? I can’t install what i want from where i want? Syncing with exchange is a HUGE battery drain. The thing is a kids toy and they took that toy and made it bigger, what a waste. Not putting some form of OSX on the iPad is one of their hugest mistakes.

The problem is, it will still sell. It’s not overly expensive, being cheaper than most laptops and definitely cheaper than the cheapest macbook, people will still buy it. Then the same idiots who thought the iPhone was the first touchscreen “smartphone” (quotes because it’s really not a smart phone, it’s more like a clever phone) will run around talking about how the iPad revolutionized portable pc’s and blah blah blah…

Anyway, i hate Apple. This is all.

  2. You can tell Jobs is feeling the heat from Google. At the latest Apple cult meeting he was spraying so much hate on Google it’s not even funny. When the Chrome OS tablet comes out I’m definitely picking one up. I don’t need it, but I’ll do it to spite Apple lol.
