I was checking out this article from 1Up and it appears there is a strong possibility that Shenmue II will be coming to XBLA.  How do you get that from this picture?  Well the codename for the original Shenmue was Project Berkley.  Shenmue II is one of my favorite games.  For the time the graphics were great, the story was great, and even the fighting was great.  It takes be back to a time when I actually completed single player console games.

In my opinion Shenmue pushed cinematic gaming forward.  While you did do a bit of direct control fighting, most of the interaction was done via QTE (Quick Time Events).  That’s what Heavy Rain uses for those who aren’t familiar with the term QTE’s.  I think that QTE’s pull you deeper into the games story, pushing you to make split second decisions that may have irreversible effects later.  The only thing that can be better than this for me is if this game does so well on XBLA that the creators decide to complete the series and make a third one.  And trust me…the ending leaves you hanging for another game.
