Everyone who knows me how I feel about games these days.  The challenge is gone, built for the main stream to be a few hours of entertainment with no real effort.  I’m always looking for games that will pose a challenge.  Games I found recently were Portal: Prelude and Ikaruga.  However both pale in comparison to the beast that is classic mega man!

Mega Man 9 is a brand new Mega Man game, not a remake.  All new levels, story( like anyone cares about the story), etc.  What they did go back to was the roots…really back.  It has the graphics and music of the classic mega man style.  And just like classic mega man, the game is harder than silicon breast implants.  I played for several hours the other night and I didn’t even get to one boss.  And you know what, I loved every second of it.  It makes you work every step of the way.  I like games like that because you get a greater feeling of accomplishment when you actually finish it.  If I wanted some mindless fun I would just go play some “Dangerous Dave”.  Like I said, the music is like classic mega man as well.  Mega Man has the most epic music you will find in MIDI format.

I wonder how I beat Mega Man 1, 2, and 3 when I was a kid.  As of right now it almost seems impossible, but I’m probably just out of practice.  I got Mega Man 9 on the Wii through WiiWare, but according to a advertisement I saw its also availble on the 360 and the PS3.  If your up for a challenge, I’d say go get it…it will put some hair on your chest.
